| Pinball toppers! |
|
Well, 2012 is winding down, but there's lots happening at Jay French Studios.
One of the biggest projects this year has been pinball toppers. To the right you'll see a sample, which you can click on
to see more. These are hand illustrated designs, which are then vectorized in Illustrator. The client then laser etches
the designs on 24" wide by 9" or 6.5" tall clear acrylic, which are under-lit by LEDs and mounted atop the backs of pinball
machines!
Sound.... mighty specific? Well, there IS a great demand for these! Beyond that, this is really fun work for me, because
most pinball games are themed on my favorite subjects: Movies, Sci-Fi, Comics, Horror, etc. It's a tricky design style as
well, since the image comes out in reverse, so... check it out!
